Chichester Marina is hosting a summer fete on 4 July to help raise funds for the Rainbow Centre; a Fareham based charity that helps children with cerebral palsy and adults suffering from conditions caused by strokes, Parkinson’s or MS.
This free charity event is a joint collaboration between Premier Marinas, owners of Chichester Marina and hospitality group, Ideal Collection, who operate the onsite Boat House Cafe.
The fete will run from 12 noon till 6pm and will include a selection of live acoustic music acts to entertain visitors throughout the day, along with a bouncy castle, face painting, ice cream and sweets for all the family.
Among the event contributors will be the RNLI who will run a ‘lifejacket clinic’ over the course of the day. The RNLI will also offer advice on board your boat and will include checking all the boat’s safety equipment free of charge.
But that’s not all, on-site marine businesses located in the boatyard will throw open their doors and showcase a great mix of marine products and services, including the following organisations: Chichester Yacht Club, Marlin Environmental Services and Classic Yachts Chichester Limited.
Doug Griffith Yacht Services and RYA approved training centre Chichester Sea School will both be on hand to discuss sail, powerboat, first aid and navigation training qualifications relevant to the commercial and leisure skipper and will operate an advice and help centre for all training matters and RYA courses on a floating RIB at the water’s edge.
Network Yacht Brokers, in association with Black Rock and Landau Marine will be serving up canapés and pimms throughout the day and offering a free 10-point check on how to best market your boat. Not to mention, Sussex Boat Shop will be offering a 1 day special for berth holders looking to sell their boat, with a fixed brokerage free of £1,500 plus VAT regardless of the value of boat and will have trained staff on hand to carry out canopy hardware repairs – with the first few fittings free of charge!
A hog roast freshly prepared by on-site restaurant Chichester Boat House Cafe, will be available for berth holders and friends from 12 noon – tickets priced at £5.50 per head, a percentage will be donated to The Rainbow Centre and will be available to purchase in advance from the Boat House Cafe.
There will be a local presence from a range of craft, gift and food stallholders and on-site retail shop, Coastal and Outdoor Living will be offering 20% off all items on the day. There will also be an organised ‘Nauti Bake Off’, where participants will have the chance to win a Fortnum & Mason Sky High Tea at The Shard in London.
