Berth holders and boating enthusiasts braved chilly weather and the threat of rain for the New & Used Boat Show at Port Solent last weekend.
Those looking to make a big purchase had the chance to browse a stunning selection of new and used motorboats and cruising sail boats from Sea Ventures, Princess, Sunseeker and models from onsite brokers, Clipper Marine and Ancasta International Boat Sales.
Representatives from marine electronics manufacturers and resellers, Garmin, Raymarine and Simrad were also on hand to give interactive demonstrations on the latest electronic navigation equipment and offer other marine products.
Alongside the waterfront display the RNLI charity ran a drop in clinic and checked a total of sixty six lifejackets over the course of the two day event and provided general information on safety at sea; reinforcing the importance of life-jacket maintenance.
The show was also a chance for onsite marine services such as Martin Leaning, mast and rigging specialists, Sunsail and Queen of Peace charter providers to promote their services. Golden Arrow Marine also had a successful weekend, reporting the sale of an outboard and two tenders.
Bob Hamilton of Clipper Marine said: “Premier Marina’s weekend boat show was a hit with boat buyers and vendors alike. The weather on Saturday was glorious, a bit drizzly on Sunday but didn’t stop the true boaters coming from all over the UK. Clipper Marine sold 4 boats over the weekend including 2 new Bavaria sailing and power boats and still has many prospective buyers to follow up. A great tally and all down to the combined efforts of the Premier team and exhibitors. Let’s hope this show becomes an annual event and continues to put Port Solent on the boaters map.”
