RYA Joining Points enjoy double commission in October

Throughout October, clubs, training centres and marine organisations signed up to the RYA Joining Point programme will enjoy double commission for every new RYA member they introduce.

The Joining Point scheme provides a quick and easy way for registered organisations to earn commission when they spread the word about RYA membership and encourage their members and customers to join the association.

Throughout October registered Joining Points will receive double the standard commission values of the scheme, receiving £20 commission for every family membership or £15 for every individual adult member they sign up.  The commission earned can then be fed back into the organisation to help pay for renovations, new kit, towards new boats; the choices are endless.

“The Joining Point programme is a real win for everyone involved.  Clubs and centres earn valuable commission, new members enjoy the benefits of being a member and the RYA membership grows”, commented Ben Falla, RYA Head of Membership.

Andy Airnes, Training Secretary and the administrator of the Joining Point scheme at Blackpool and Fleetwood Yacht Club said: “The Joining Point scheme is very easy to administer.  The promotional materials are clear concise and attractively presented and the scheme provides a clear route and link between club sailing and sailors and the RYA.

“The pricing structure between membership and the cost of an ICC allows us to make an easy sell to newly qualified Powerboat Level 2; ‘membership is effectively free, and you get all of the benefits and protections of the RYA and your ICC.”

While Adam White, Chief Instructor at Westminster Boating Base added: “The Joining Point scheme is a really good incentive for centres. By encouraging instructors to inform their students of the benefits of RYA membership (and getting them to sign up for it), the centre receives a small commission – and for the students, the RYA provides a valuable resource and knowledge pool for anyone taking to the water.”

Existing RYA Joining Points don’t need to do anything to register for this special promotion, all they need to do is tell their customers about the benefits of RYA membership and get them to sign up.

The double commission will automatically be applied to their account and the commission paid will depend upon the number of new members that sign up and the type of membership signed up to, so the more people who sign up the more commission earned.

For those clubs, training centres and marine organisations not already registered as a Joining Point, signing up is completely free and easy to do, visit www.rya.org.uk/go/joiningpoint to get started.
