CREATING ITALY’S MOST VALUABLE CLUSTER OF PREMIUM MARINAS

At the Genoa Boat Show D-Marin set out its plans for expansion in Italy, including its most recent acquisition that creates the most valuable marina cluster in the Mediterranean.

D-Marin recently acquired Porto Mirabello, a renowned superyacht marina located in the Gulf of La Spezia, Italy. This strategic addition reflects D-Marin’s ongoing investment in enhancing its portfolio, growing its presence in Italy to six marinas in some of the country’s most prestigious yachting destinations. Porto Mirabello caters to the demands of the world’s largest and most important superyachts. It features 407 berths and offers luxury amenities such as a heliport, upscale dining options, and boutique shopping. During the Genoa Boat Show press conference, D-Marin set out its vision for the marina, including enhancements to the facilities and the positive impact planned on the local community and economy.

Porto Mirabello is the third Italian marina D-Marin has added to its selection in 2024 alone, following the additions of Aregai and San Lorenzo in the Liguria region. D-Marin has also undertaken the construction of Livorno Marina next to the Azimut-Benetti shipyard, with a vision of creating a world-renowned marina to accommodate the finest superyachts. The first berths are available during 2025.

D-Marin also operates Punta Faro near Venice, which was added to the selection in 2022, and Varazze marina, Liguria, in partnership with Azimut|Benetti.

Nicolo Caffo, Regional Director of Italy, said: “Italy is one of the best yachting destinations in the world and is a key region as we seek to offer more cruising options in unique locations. We are thrilled to welcome Porto Mirabello into the D-Marin family which strengthens our footprint in Italy and also reinforces our commitment to providing world-class marina services. Porto Mirabello’s exceptional facilities and prime location in the Gulf of La Spezia align perfectly with our vision of creating the finest yachting destinations in the Mediterranean. Another exciting project for D-Marin is the Livorno Marina development with Azimut Benetti and we are delighted to share details of the progress so far.”

Pierluigi Peracchini, Mayor of La Spezia, stated: “The inclusion of Porto Mirabello into D-Marin’s prestigious portfolio marks a significant milestone for our city. This partnership will bring further attention to La Spezia as a premier yachting destination, fostering economic growth and enhancing our community’s connection to the maritime world. We are excited about the opportunities this collaboration will create, not only for the marina but for the entire region, as we continue to showcase the beauty and hospitality of our coastline.”

D-Marin’s aims to provide seamless cruising experiences for its customers. Initiatives like the “Happy Berth Days” promotion, offering complimentary berthing days at various D-Marin locations, encourage sailing enthusiasts to enjoy diverse and exceptional marina experiences across their preferred destinations.
