Gosport’s Victoria Quay

The development of the marine services hub at Victoria Quay in Gosport continues at pace following the construction of the hoist dock last year.

They have recently completed the second phase of their berthing pontoon project providing an additional 70m of deep water berthing for the servicing of boats afloat, and they will be carrying out some re-surfacing work at the end of July to help provide a cleaner working environment, create an improved landscape and improve drainage across the site.

Incline test of Medallia

There will also be a brand new tea and coffee shop opening at the end of July serving hot and cold beverages, breakfast, light lunch and with a specialist take on Afternoon Tea and Cakes – T by the Sea*. This is a great new addition to the site housed in the Grade II listed Tank Store that will serve the growing needs of the site and support the wider community in enjoying the wonderful heritage that the site and the wider Royal Clarence yard has to offer. Work continues on the development of the Grade II Listed Rum store as they continue to develop the design work following successful meetings with Gosport Council and architects.

From an operational perspective, over the last few months the site has seen visitors from Qinetiq who carried out an upgrade to the new Royal Navy X vessel Sir Patrick Blackett, UK Docks on behalf of Babcocks and the Vine Trust who are upgrading Scimitar (an ex RN patrol vessel heading for Africa) and D-Day re-visited who are repairing an MASB Gunboat from WWII.

In the sailing world they saw a visit by TS Royalist, an incline test carried out on the racing yacht Medallia on behalf of Pip Hare Racing,  as well as many new visitors and their racing yachts including Aqua Star, Black Star, Ceerit, Artemis, Tulikettu, Telefonica and Ollie Heer coming through from the onsite Tenancy agreement with Marine Rigging Services.

There is currently a promotional offer on until September where a discount will be applied on lifting and launching services until 1st September, so if you have a need to service/repair/upgrade or modify your boat please get in contact.
