Sunseeker International has won the “Breakthrough Launch of the Year” award at the 10th anniversary edition of the Boat Builder Awards.
Held at Amsterdam’s National Maritime Museum, the awards recognise excellence and innovation across the global yachting industry. Sunseeker was honoured for its latest model, the Ocean 156, which was praised for setting a new standard in yacht design with its expansive, customisable interiors and performance capabilities.
The Boat Builder Awards, co-organised by IBI and METSTRADE, is dedicated to recognising the outstanding contributions of boat builders, teams and supply chain partners who advance the global yacht industry. This year, in celebration of a decade of excellence, the awards honoured achievements in 11 categories, including design, innovation and environmental responsibility.
Winning the ‘Breakthrough Launch of the Year’ award is a testament to Sunseeker’s commitment to pushing boundaries. The Ocean 156 features a fully enclosed upper deck, a spacious panoramic saloon with 360˚ views and single-level flooring for ease of movement across its interior. With a focus on adaptability, the Ocean 156 offers owners a range of customisable layouts and design options, allowing them to tailor every space to their personal preferences.
“We are incredibly honoured to be recognised by the Boat Builder Awards for the Ocean 156. This achievement is a testament to the hard work, creativity and dedication of our entire team at Sunseeker International,” said Andrea Frabetti, CEO of Sunseeker International. “The Ocean 156 represents a milestone in yacht design, delivering both expansive space and unparalleled flexibility to our clients. It was created with the vision of redefining luxury and performance in yachting, and this award affirms the collective efforts and passion that drive our commitment to innovation and craftsmanship.”
Beyond its flexible interiors, the Ocean 156 delivers powerful performance, with a choice of MAN V8-1300 or MAN V12-1650 engines, achieving top speeds of up to 25 knots and a range of up to 900 nautical miles at cruising speed. With a length of 25.14 metres and a maximum beam of 6.56 meters, the Ocean 156’s design includes 1,770 square feet of interior space across three levels, complemented by substantial exterior entertaining areas.
