Contest Yachts is inviting sailing enthusiasts and prospective owners to its annual Open House event on Saturday 5 April, at the shipyard in Medemblik. Running from 10:00 to 17:00, this event offers a unique opportunity to step aboard an extensive range of Contest yachts and gain an insider’s view of the renowned Dutch shipyard.
This year’s showcase features a stunning selection of models from Contest Yachts’ 13-26m bluewater cruising range, including the new Contest 63CS, recently crowned 2025 European Yacht of the Year. Guests will have the chance to explore these luxury performance yachts first-hand, appreciating their outstanding craftsmanship and innovation.
Visitors can also take a behind-the-scenes tour of the shipyard, witnessing its meticulous process of yacht construction from initial composite moulding through to the final outfitting. Live demonstrations of Contest’s unique single-shot vacuum infusion technology will highlight the advanced techniques that set the brand apart in yacht building.
Supporting the event is a strong lineup of Contest’s key partner-suppliers, including Advanced Plastics, Alexseal, Piet Brouwer Elektrotechniek, Raymarine, More Marine, North Sails, Seldén, Close Marine Group, Esthec, Kuiper Verzekeringen, Mastervolt, Neptune, Vyva Fabrics, Sevenstar Yacht Transport, ASA Boot Electro, Lankhorst Taselaar, Yanmar, and Whisper Power. Representatives from these companies will be available for one-to-one discussions, alongside a programme of insightful specialist talks and presentations.
Arjen Conijn, CEO of Contest Yachts, said: “We’ve been building luxury cruising yachts since the 1960s, so we know what it takes to transform a small space into a world of possibilities. With every new model there’s so much more to enjoy, and our latest new yachts, including the brand new, remarkable European Yacht of the Year winning Contest 63CS make this progression very clear. We look forward to welcoming everyone.”
This year, Contest Yachts is delighted to introduce a special collaboration with the World Cruising Club, who will be hosting informative sessions on its popular ARC rallies. Attendees will also hear first-hand insights from a Contest yacht owner who has taken part in these ocean-going adventures.
Adding to the excitement, members of the Contest-sponsored Team Row4Cancer, winners of the recent World’s Toughest Row from the Canaries to the Caribbean, will share an inspiring account of their gruelling 3,000-mile challenge and what it took to achieve victory.
Alongside an impressive collection of brokerage yachts from Contest and CB Selections, visitors can enjoy refreshments and the chance to meet the Contest Yachts team.
