Tall Ships Youth Trust (TSYT) has announced its exciting new winter-sun voyage programme with sunny sailing adventures available to book between now and January.
This is a great opportunity to escape the winter blues and book one of six voyages centred around Cascais, Portugal and the Canary Islands, Spain. From eight-day voyages hopping between the islands to almost three weeks’ passage sailing from Santa Cruz, Tenerife to Portsmouth, there’s something for everyone aged 18 to 80!
TSYT’s adult sailing experiences on board its 72ft Challenger yachts, directly support its transformational voyage programme for young people aged 12-25 from across the UK. With a particular focus on working with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, TSYT has been providing young people aged 12 to 25, with life-changing experiences at sea for the past 67 years.
TSYT CEO, Alastair Floyd, said: “All our adult voyages positively contribute to our vital youth development work. The great thing about our winter-sun adventures is that you get to enjoy an exhilarating voyage experience, made even better by sun, sea and sand, while simultaneously supporting young people to benefit from one of our life-changing voyages.”
TSYT’s Challengers are 72ft ocean-going steel yachts, constructed to withstand the Southern Ocean. Launched in 2000, they raced round the world in two editions of the BT Global Challenge, the route taking them against prevailing winds and tides, through some of the most challenging sailing conditions on the planet.
This means the Challengers are the perfect vessel for this type of voyage and will make it an unforgettable experience!
On board, crew members, participating in all aspects of sailing the Challenger including deck duties, food preparation and day-to-day maintenance!
