Have you voted in the The Yacht Harbour Association Marina of the Year yet?

There is still time to place your vote in The Yacht Harbour Association’s (TYHA) Marina of the Year Awards 2023, supported by Haven Knox-Johnston.

TYHA awards have been running for nine years and showcase the very best marinas and marina employees in the UK and overseas, who go above and beyond to deliver an outstanding experience and quality service to resident and visiting boat owners.

“We are really excited about this year’s awards,” commented Jon White, TYHA, General Manager. “The awards provide the perfect platform to bring together the crème de la crème of the marina community and celebrate the fantastic work they do each and every day to ensure their berth holders and visitors have the best experience and enjoy outstanding service each and every time they visit.”

There are seven awards up for grabs, including the new ‘Sustainable Marina of the Year Award’ introduced by Haven Knox-Johnston and supported by The Green Blue. This award celebrates and shares the fantastic work going on every day to improve our marina environment, by individuals and marinas around the world.

The award categories are:

  • Coastal Marina of the Year – under 250 berths
  • Coastal Marina of the Year – over 250 berths
  • Inland Marina of the Year
  • International Marina of the Year
  • Superyacht Marina of the Year
  • Marina Employee of the Year
  • Sustainable Marina of the Year Award

The first 6 award categories are open to any TYHA Member Marina with a Gold Anchor status.  Any marina, berth holder or member of the public can nominate a marina employee for TYHA’s Marina Employee of the Year award.

The new Sustainable Marina of the Year Award is open to any TYHA Clean Marina accredited marina. These marinas can nominate themselves by answering the following two questions relating to their environmental procedures and policies within their marina and submitting their responses to Hayley Cloke – hcloke@britishmarine.co.uk by the 28 July 2023.

  1. What additional sustainable practices have you implemented since your Clean Marina Assessment and what impact has this had?
  2. How have you motivated your berth holders to be environmentally conscious and act responsibly to protect the marine environment?

Those marinas that submit an entry will then go forward to a Clean Marina Sustainability Award Standards panel whereby the marina that shows exceptional Clean Marina Best Practice will be given the title of Sustainable Marina of the Year 2023!

The winners will be announced at TYHA awards ceremony at the Southampton International Boat Show 2023 on Wednesday 20 September.

To place your vote, visit https://www.tyha.co.uk/marina-awards and vote for your favourite TYHA marina using the search box tool. To nominate an employee, enter their full name, the marina they work at and reason for choosing them in the comments box.

Voting closes at midnight on 27 August 2023.
