LKQ Aquafax Plymouth  Supports PDSSA Sailability

LKQ Aquafax Plymouth has announced its support for the Plymouth and Devon Schools’ Sailing Association (PDSSA) Sailability with an initial donation of essential marine equipment.

This donation includes various Lalizas Action buoyancy aids, Foam Lifejackets together with the Fit & Float Buoyancy Aid for children and adults, oars, and other marine supplies aimed at enhancing the safety and enjoyment of the association’s activities.

PDSSA Sailability provides invaluable services and support to individuals with disabilities, offering opportunities to engage in sailing and boating activities. Whether for training, unique experiences or simply an escape from the day-to-day, PDSSA Sailability’s highly experienced crew makes it all possible. Participants can take command of a sailboat, experience powerboating, or explore the yard– there’s something for everyone.

“We are incredibly proud to support PDSSA Sailability and their admirable work in our community,” said Craig Roberts, Head of Branches at LKQ Leisure and Marine. “Our donation of marine equipment is just the beginning. We hope to further engage with PDSSA Sailability in various capacities and look forward to exploring future opportunities to support their mission.”

The initiative to support PDSSA Sailability was spearheaded by Greg Emmott, Assistant Branch Manager at LKQ Aquafax Plymouth. Greg, along with Branch Manager Tom Jefferies, both commercially qualified skippers, recognised the importance of PDSSA Sailability’s work and the impact it has on the local community.

“Seeing the incredible work that PDSSA Sailability does, we felt compelled to contribute in any way we could,” said Greg. “This initial donation is our way of giving back to the community and supporting a cause that resonates with us personally and professionally. We are hopeful that this marks the beginning of a lasting relationship with PDSSA Sailability.”

In addition to the donation, LKQ Aquafax Plymouth is excited about the potential to engage in volunteer efforts and support PDSSA Sailability’s activities. This commitment underscores the company’s dedication to fostering community well-being and supporting inclusive initiatives.

Mike Duffield MBE (President & Principal, PDSSA) expressed gratitude for the support, saying, “The generosity and involvement of LKQ Aquafax Plymouth will make a significant difference in our ability to provide safe and enjoyable experiences on the water for our members. We are grateful for their commitment and look forward to a fruitful partnership.”

As LKQ Aquafax Plymouth and PDSSA Sailability embark on this collaborative journey, they invite other local businesses and community members to join them in supporting this essential cause. Together, they aim to ensure that PDSSA Sailability continues to offer its valuable services and foster a more inclusive and supportive community.
