New restaurant opens at MDL’s Torquay Marina

Berth holders, visitors and tenants at MDL’s Torquay Marina can now eat, drink and unwind at the new onsite bar and restaurant, Otto.

This exciting new eatery is located at Unit 8 on Vaughan Road in the marina, with its location inspiring its name – Otto means eight in Italian. And the restaurant has a distinct Mediterranean feel with alfresco dining space on the large outdoor terrace and stunning 360-degree views of the marina.

Otto has an eclectic offering, from coffee (wood roasted locally in Devon) to dining, having partnered with il Cornicione Pizza whose award-wining wood fired pizza will be served daily from 3pm.

The team at Otto also own and operate the popular venue Twenty1 across the bay in Victoria Parade. Managing Director, Anthony Jones, says: “We’re delighted to have expanded our business at MDL’s Torquay Marina. We’ve always loved this location with its panoramic views, so when the space became available, we couldn’t say no.

“We’re looking forward to being part of the marina community and serve as a hub where friends can catch up, or people can meet for business. Our approach is very much less is more, offering an extensive brunch menu and deli counter during the day, and delicious Neapolitan pizzas in the evening, along with a great drinks’ menu with local choices.

“We don’t take bookings, and there’s no set dining area, it’s just a lovely, relaxed environment where people can unwind and enjoy the spectacular view.”

Brunch is served from 9am until 2pm daily, with il Cornicione pizza’s available from 3pm-9pm.

“We’re excited to welcome Anthony and his team to Torquay Marina and hope that they will soon feel at home,” says Martyn Sherratt, Torquay Marina Manager.

“Otto is a fantastic addition to our friendly community here at the marina and we’re already receiving great feedback from berth holders and visitors alike.”
