The first all-ladies angling team compete in Sea Angling Classic to reel in funds to support the fight against cancer.
Team Crewsaver, comprising of four women with varying levels of fishing experience, aims to raise vital funds to donate to Cancer Research UK to support the fight against cancer. In a display of purpose and unity, the first all-ladies team is set to participate in the annual Sea Angling Classic from June 20-23 at Premier Marina Port Solent.
Earlier this year, Crewsaver, Survitec’s leading lifejacket brand, unveiled a limited edition pink Crewfit 165N Sport lifejacket to raise awareness and vital funds. 100 per cent of all donations for the pink lifejackets go directly to Cancer Research UK supporting breast cancer.
As a vibrant symbol of their commitment to raising awareness and funds Team Crewsaver members Gemma Robins, Hannah Burywood, Izzy George, and Emma York will wear these pink lifejackets during the competition to ensure their safety but also serve as a beacon of solidarity for those affected by cancer.
Survitec Director of Marketing and fishing team member Hannah Burywood said: “We are anchored in hope while catching tope! By combining our passion for angling with our dedication to this vital cause, we hope to inspire others and draw attention to the importance of safety in boating alongside the ongoing fight against cancer.”<
The 2024 Sea Angling Classic is the third edition of this annual event, taking place on the South Coast of the UK using the diverse fishing grounds of the Solent.
