Since the Bulgarian family-owned business Elica Group announced its luxury power catamaran brand, Omaya Yachts interest has been high in its debut model the OMAYA 50 with 62ft and 80ft options on the horizon.
With its design setting it apart from the competition, the CEO and co-founder of Omaya, Kaloyan Radulov, explains more about its simplified approach.
“One of our primary goals was to maximise the benefits of the catamaran structure, and that’s deeply ingrained in our philosophy. For us, luxury means comfort and convenience. We’ve never subscribed to the idea that luxury is about flashy features or exotic, expensive materials. We care about how our clients feel and build that emotional connection to Omaya that aligns with them as individuals. Luxury clients expect more than just a product, they want meaningful exclusive experiences.
“In designing the OMAYA 50, which boasts an 8.4m beam, we aimed to create a space where you can genuinely relax and enjoy your time at sea, not just with extravagant features but with a layout that serves your needs. The design’s ‘back to basics’ approach focuses on delivering peace, quiet, and a thoughtful experience in a well-crafted environment. In today’s world of over-supplied, lower-quality products, we believe a well-built yacht can restore the essence of living well, especially when shared with loved ones. To us, true luxury is found in quality, robustness, and most importantly, the overall experience.
“One of the most distinctive aspects of the OMAYA 50 is its layout, which breaks away from the typical design seen in Mediterranean catamarans. For instance, we’ve removed the fixed composite seating areas in the aft cockpit to offer an uninterrupted, infinity-like view of the sea. This design decision reinforces our focus on creating a seamless connection with the surroundings.
“We also prioritised increasing the saloon volume, making it a more versatile space where owners and guests can enjoy their time even in cooler months or during particularly hot days when the air conditioning offers a refreshing retreat.
“Despite the spacious interior, we didn’t compromise on outdoor areas. The aft cockpit comfortably accommodates a dining table for up to ten people, while the front cockpit offers additional seating and sunbeds, perfect for lounging. And finally, the expansive flybridge is one of the standout features – a generously-sized space where guests can enjoy spectacular dinners under the stars.
“This combination of thoughtful design, spaciousness, and the flexibility to use the boat across different seasons sets the OMAYA 50 apart from its competitors. It’s not just about luxury – it’s about creating a holistic, elevated experience.”
The OMAYA 50 is due for completion in late 2024.
